Remote Sensing
Remote Sensing is the acquisition of information about an object, without making physical contact with the object. Remote sensing requires aerial sensor technologies to detect and classify objects on Earth (on the surface, and in the atmosphere and oceans) by means of propagated signals. Sensors collect the information in the form of geographical images. This enables manipulation, analysis and visualization. These instruments are integrated in GIS software. In this system information is transmitted in the form of electromagnetic radiation (EMR).
